Welcome to Summer Session 1, Tar Heels! As things heat up on campus, we’ll be hosting some excellent events!

Field Trip: Strawberry Picking – Tuesday, May 21, 5-7pm

Join CUAB for a festive summer outing! We’ll leave the Union at 5pm and head to a local berry patch. Fill your baskets with berries for pies, smoothies, ice cream, or just for eating! Costs are covered by CUAB but reservations are required – and there is limited space, so email Kate Garand (garand@live.unc.edu) to make sure you have a spot!

Field Trip: Picnic at Duke Gardens — Thursday, May 23, 5-7:30pm

Enjoy the last of spring at the beautiful Duke Gardens! CUAB will provide transportation and a picnic dinner from Panera. bring your friends and a picnic blanket and enjoy some fresh air and the lovely grounds. Email Kate (garand@live.unc.edu) to sign up.

Dinner in the Pit — Tuesday, May 28, 5pm

CUAB’s buying dinner tonight! Join us in the Pit for dinner provided by our favorite local burger joint, Buns! We’ll have regular and veggie burgers on hand, as well as plenty of french fries!

Field Trip: Durham Bulls Game — Thursday, May 30, 6pm

Cheer for the Bulls as they take on the Bison! CUAB will take care of the tickets and transportation. $1 hot dogs, drinks, and popcorn are up to you! Email Kate (garand@live.unc.edu) to sign up and let us know if you’ll need a ride! Spots fill up quickly so email soon!

Field Trip: Celebrity Dairy Goat Farm — Wednesday, June 5, 11am-2pm

Take a trip to Siler City! Eat delicious food prepared by the farm’s Inn and take a tour of the farm. If you’re interested, you can befriend a goat or two along the way! CUAB will provide transportation. Email Kate (garand@live.unc.edu) to reserve your space!

Field Trip: Carolina Tiger Rescue — Monday, June 10, 2-4:30pm

Carolina Tiger Rescue is an animal sanctuary in Pittsboro, North Carolina. It’s home to binturongs, caracals, kinkajous, ocelots, servals, and tigers. Join us to learn about wildlife preservation in our community and meet these big cats up close! Email Kate (garand@live.unc.edu) to sign up for the trip!

Movie Night: 10 Things I Hate About You & Rita’s Ice — Wednesday, June 12, 7pm, Olde Campus Upper Quad

What could be better than a movie and refreshing Italian Ice on a beautiful summer night? Bring a blanket or chair and a few friends and join us for this special outdoor screening.

Breakfast in the Pit — Monday, June 17, 8am

We’ll be serving breakfast from Neal’s Deli to provide fuel for your exams with their amazing buttermilk biscuits. Get your day started off right!
